Irvin A. Latts, 79, East Seventh Street, died Thursday, July 18, 1996, in St. Mary's Medical Center.

He was a lifelong Duluth resident. He graduated from Central High School in 1935. He earned a business degree from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. He married Esther Avon Gendein in 1943 in Duluth. He was owner and president of Great Lakes Woolen Co. and Kremen Duluth until retiring in 1985. He was a member of Temple Israel. He was past president of B'nai B'rith and Jewish Educational Center and a past board member of Jewish Federation. He was active in the community and volunteered for SCORE and United Way.

His parents were Abraham and Golda Friedman Latts. His wife, Esther, died on May 11, 1972, and his second wife, Evelyn Titch Lieberman, died in 1990. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey of Alameda, Calif.; a daughter, Ginny Latts of Cambridge, Mass.; a sister, Helen Linde of Burlingame, Calif.; a brother, Elliott of San Marino, Calif.; and a special friend, Shirley Sigler of Duluth.

Services: 11 a.m. today in Temple Israel synagogue. Burial will be in Tifereth Cemetery in Rice Lake Township. Arrangements are by Johnson Mortuary.
